iPhone 12 Full Review, Nostalgia With The Shape Of iPhone 4

iPhone 12 Full Review

When the iPhone 12 unit came to hand, the packaging box was very different from its predecessor. It is only half the size of the iPhone 11 box.

Apple has indeed removed the charger and earphones for reasons of protecting the environment. There are many pros and cons of that.

I myself have no problem, because until now the charger and earphones from the iPhone 11 are still stored in the packaging box. Only use the cable, while the charger head uses the IT Plug 65 GaN Charger 65W. This device is also what I then use to recharge the iPhone 12.

Design

From 2014 to last year, Apple adopted curved edges on its cellphones, with the exception of the first generation iPhone SE. The device launched in 2016 still carries the same design as the iPhone 5.

Now, after all this time, the technology giant from Cupertino has returned to applying flat edges to his new cellphone, but it has been given a new touch, of course. This combination brings refreshment to the appearance of the iPhone.

When held, it feels steady in the hand, not easy to slip and completely comfortable. Maybe the dimensions of this cellphone contributed, because Apple made it slimmer. The iPhone 12 is 7.4 mm wide, while the iPhone 11 is 8.3 mm wide.

I love the weight of the iPhone 12. Even though it weighs only 30 grams from its predecessor, it feels so light in the hand.

Complaints only on the hind shell only. Because using a layer of glass easily leaves finger stains. Moreover, the unit that I use is dark blue so it is so tight.

It's good to use a casing so as to protect the body in case you accidentally fall. Based on experience flat edges with sharp edges are more prone to dents than curves.

About the buttons and ports, nothing has changed in number or position. Apple says the iPhone 12 packs an upgraded IP68. As a result, this cellphone is able to survive at a depth of up to six meters for 30 minutes.

Screen

The screen is a significant improvement that Apple has given the iPhone 12. How could it not have its predecessor only used an IPS LCD screen, while its successor used OLED. The difference is clear, guaranteed that you are lazy to eat the iPhone 11 screen again.

Thanks to Dolby Vision HDR support, the color reproduction and contrast ratio are excellent. Be prepared for your eyes to be spoiled when you watch shows on Netflix, YouTube and Apple TV +. But it must be admitted that the iPhone 12 screen has not been able to beat the screen owned by the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra or the Oppo Find X2 Pro.

The diagonal of the iPhone 12 screen is still 6.1 inches, but the resolution is 2532 x 1170 pixels. Presenting sharp and clear images and can be seen at all angles. The bezel is thinner, the better it is.

Apple coated the screen with a ceramic shield which is claimed to be 4x stronger than protective glass on the market today. But remember detikers, anything glass can break. There's nothing wrong with sticking to tempered glass to protect it even more.

One more thing that makes an impression when enjoying entertainment on the iPhone 12 is the speakers. Even though they both carry stereo speakers, the sound production is much louder than the iPhone 11. It really spoils my hearing senses.

Camera

When viewed from the outside, it seems that Apple hasn't made any changes to the camera. There is only one front camera and is 12 MP.

While there are two cameras mounted on the back, the composition is still the same as the iPhone 11. The main camera is still 12 MP, juxtaposed with a 12 MP ultrawide lens.

But when I compare the iPhone 11 and 12, there are differences in the shots. In the official statement, Apple has paired a new 7 element design with ƒ / 1.6 aperture, the largest on an iPhone.

It's no wonder the company headed by Tim Cook dares to claim a 27% increase in low-light performance. Coupled with the enhancement of Smart HDR and Deep Fusion, the photos are more detailed even in low light conditions.

Performance

Armed with the first 5 nanometer processor ever embedded in a smartphone. Apple named it A14 Bionic.

The iPhone 11's performance is still very smooth, but the iPhone 12's performance is much smoother. The 50% increase that Apple claims is very pronounced when using this phone.

When converting a short 4K video to Full HD using Adobe Premium Rush, the iPhone 11 took 50 seconds. While the iPhone 12 only takes 28 seconds.

Battery

It is a tradition that Apple doesn't reveal the battery capacity figures of its cellphones. Even so, it was revealed that the iPhone 12 battery has a capacity of 2,815 mAh. While the iPhone 11 is bigger, 3,110 mAh.

For this battery business, the iPhone 11 is still superior. When fully charged, this cellphone can penetrate more than 11 hours. While the iPhone 12 is in the range of 9 hours.

But luckily the iPhone 12 is provided with 20W fast charging support. In 30 minutes, it's 56% charged, and the battery is full in less than an hour.
