Easy Ways To Activate Personal Hotspot On iPhone Device

WiFi tethering or opening access to an internet connection via a wireless network is a feature commonly found on smartphones, including the iPhone.

Basically this feature works by turning the phone into a hotspot that can provide an internet connection via a WiFi network. The internet connection comes from an active mobile internet.

For some smartphones today, the WiFi tethering feature usually automatically appears in the network settings with an option called “personal hotspot”. However, this option sometimes doesn't appear on some iPhones.

If the option for WiFi tethering doesn't appear on your iPhone, you don't need to worry. You just need to do a little network settings first, here's how to set up your iPhone so you can tether WiFi:

  1. Turn on your iPhone, then go to Settings by tapping the gear icon.
  2. Then, click on the “Cellular” option to access the network settings.
  3. After that, scroll down until you find the “Mobile Data Network” option, then click on that option.
  4. You will be presented with a kind of blank form to fill in the Access Point Name (APN) so that the data package on the iPhone can access the internet connection.
  5. In the “Cellular Data”, “LTE Settings”, and “Personal Hotspot” sections, fill in the APN column with the name “internet”, leave the “User Name” and “Password” fields blank.
  6. After you have filled in, return to the Settings start page. Wait a while until the “Personal Hotspot” option appears.

The “Personal Hotspot” option will appear on the Settings start page, under the “Cellular” option. If the “Personal Hotspot” option appears, it means that your iPhone can now be used for WiFi tethering. If you want to tether WiFi to another device, first make sure that you have an active internet. As mentioned above, the internet connection in the WiFi tethering feature is generated from cellular internet.

To be able to tether WiFi on iPhone, the method is quite easy, you just click the "Personal Hotspot" option.

Next, set the WiFi password first as desired by clicking the “WiFi Password” column. After filling in the password, click Done.

Then, slide the “Allow Access” toggle to start iPhone WiFi tethering.

Now, your iPhone can share internet connection via WiFi network.

One thing to note, the iPhone battery will run out faster when you're tethering WiFi.
