The Apple company also has wireless audio devices called AirPods to complement the ecosystem it develops in addition to devices in the form of cellphones, tablets, and computers.
Using this device, users can listen to music in a more comfortable way, make or receive phone calls on connected devices, to access the Siri digital assistant to do a number of things.
AirPods have several advanced features such as Active Noise Cancellation aka ANC (only Pro and Max versions), the option to play music automatically when worn or pause it when removed, and switch from one device to another automatically.
Can AirPods Connect to Android?
Although designed to complement Apple's ecosystem, AirPods also support non-Apple devices. Android phone or tablet users can even use it like a common wireless audio device.
However, there are a few caveats to keep in mind when using AirPods for non-Apple devices. Which one of them, the user will miss some of the magical features of this device.
Some of these features include fast pairing, automatic music pause, and a battery check indicator for the device itself. Even on some Android devices, the active noise cancellation function of AirPods Pro will not work.
When paired to another device, support for Siri will also be disabled. Users won't even find an alternative to it because AirPods also don't support other digital assistants, including Google Assistant.
The good news is that some standard features like controls for the music player are still available. Users can also use third-party apps to work around some of the missing support, such as AirBattery to display the battery indicator and enable automatic music pause (especially Spotify).
