Mi Smart Band 5 is still priced at an affordable price, which is under $35. But not inferior to other premium class smart bands, this smart band provides an increase in attractive and contemporary features that may have been present in today's premium smartbands / smartwatches.
By design, the Mi Smart Band 5 has a design that still looks similar to the previous generation, namely the MI smart Band 4, which is oval in the module. The screen uses an AMOLED panel with a slightly larger size of 1.1 inches, from the previous 0.95 inches.
This screen has a resolution of 126 × 294, which has a brightness level of up to 450nits. with 2.5D curved glass and anti-fingerprint coating. At the bottom of the screen is a round capacitive button.
It weighs 11.9 grams, lighter than the previous generation, with polycarbonate material on the smart band module, and silicon on the strap. There are various color choices for the Mi SmartBand 5 strap.
The strap band on this device is also compatible with the previous generation, so users can wear the strap from the Mi Smart Band 3 or Mi Smart Band 4.To charge the device, users no longer need to remove the smart band module from the strap, like the Mi Smart Band first and second generation.
Other specifications offered on the Mi Smart Band 5 include 512KB of memory and 16MB of internal storage. At the bottom there is a magnetic pogo pin which of course functions for the charging connector. Then there are also several PPG heart rate tracking sensors.
For water resistance, Mi Smart Band 5 has a 5 ATM certification where users can bring the device to swim at depths of up to 50 meters.
This device has a battery capacity of 125mAh, which is claimed to be used for 14 to 20 days of use. This battery capacity is actually smaller than the previous generation where the Mi Smart Band 4 has a 135mAh battery.
Users can integrate it into Android or iOS smartphone devices, with a minimum of Android OS 5.0 or above, and iOS 10 or higher. With Bluetooth 5.0 BLE connectivity, of course, it will save more power.
