Just Wait for the iPhone 16 Instead of Buying the iPhone 15

The iPhone 15 series, which was launched last September, was greeted enthusiastically by most consumers. The iPhone 15 series, which consists of the "regular" iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, brings various novelties. Starting from the A17 Pro chip in the Pro variant, Dynamic Island and USB-C ports in all lines, an improved battery, the first periscope lens on the iPhone 15 Pro Max, using a titanium frame in the Pro variant, and much more.

However, according to a well-known gadget leaker named "Unknown21", he suggested that Apple fanboys should postpone purchasing the iPhone 15 and wait for the iPhone 16 next year. The tipster said the iPhone 15 was not worth buying. He said that the iPhone, which will be released in 2024, will bring more significant updates.

“After the (iPhone) 15 series was announced, you could expect excessive enthusiasm because (the device) brings the most revolutionary thing in the world. Let me tell you straight up, they (iPhone 15) are mediocre, not worth it. "The 2024 series is the right time," explained the tipster on his X Twitter account with the handle @URedditor.

On paper, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are models that come with quite significant improvements compared to their predecessors. Both are now equipped with a dynamic notch called Dynamic Island. Features that were previously exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max only.

The two models also come with a new rear camera sensor, namely a 48 MP camera. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are powered by the A16 Bionic chip which is designed with 4 nm fabrication technology. Same chip as last year's Pro variant.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max come with a design that uses titanium material. Apple claims the new design makes the device lighter and stronger. The “pro” variant is also powered by Apple's new chip, the A17 Pro and the first periscope lens for the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

With all the novelties above, users are still advised to wait until the launch of the next generation iPhone. So, what is the basis for the tipster's statement? Referring to the publication of Bloomberg technology journalist, Mark Gurman, Apple is believed to be introducing an Ultra variant of the iPhone next year. "Apple's plan to widen the gap between the Pro and Pro Max (models) has fueled speculation that Apple will use a new brand: Ultra.

"Instead of changing the Pro Max name to 'Ultra', Apple could add a new model above the 'Pro' variant," wrote Gurman. Gurman's statement indicates that the iPhone 16 series will come with five models. The five may consist of the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, and iPhone 16 Ultra.

Gurman also said that Apple internal parties had discussed this issue. Reportedly, the Ultra variant of the iPhone will most likely be released in 2024. "Internally, the company has discussed (will) do that (release the Ultra variant), the release date could potentially be the iPhone in 2024 (upcoming)," added Gurman. The statement made by Gurman is in line with suggestions expressed by the leaker Unknown 21. He mentioned that Apple is experimenting with various things. This means there may be something promising in the future.

Although the truth of this statement cannot be confirmed, tipster "Unknown21" seems to be quite looking forward to the novelties that Apple will bring in 2024.

The information above is also still a leak. However, at least this statement can be taken into consideration by consumers who are interested in buying the iPhone 15 series. The Pro model in the next generation of iPhone is said to come with a new chip called the Apple A18.

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are expected to come with a periscope lens. A feature previously exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are rumored to come with rear cameras arranged vertically. If this prediction is correct, this will be a design novelty that Apple has not done since the launch of the iPhone 12.
